Australian renewable energy developer Edify Energy is proposing to construct and operate a 200MW solar PV farm near the Callide coal-fired power station in Central Queensland, Australia. The project will include a 4-hour duration 200MW/800MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). Edify has completed planning and some environmental assessments, with development approval granted by Banana Shire Council. They plan to incorporate agriPV by co-locating sheep for grazing with the solar facility, with future plans for agrivoltaics. The project's lifespan is around 50 years, with a BESS using sealed lithium-ion batteries. The BESS will support the grid by providing power during peak demand. The project aims to provide power to Banana Shire and Central Queensland via the National Electricity Market's transmission network.
