EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA) inaugurated the 200MW/40MW Scarlet I solar-plus-storage project in Fresno County, California. The project has solar and energy storage capacity contracted under two power purchase agreements with local Californian electricity suppliers. EDPR NA is actively exploring incorporating agrivoltaics at the site. They have a module supply deal with US cadmium telluride (CdTe) thin-film module manufacturer First Solar. Sandhya Ganapathy, the CEO of EDP Renewables North America, mentions that California remains a priority state for their development efforts. Fresno County has the longest interconnection queue for renewable energy in the US.
