EIB, Natixis finance Sicilian wind farm

The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Natixis have signed a €97m finance contract for the construction of a 45MW wind farm in Sicily. The project involves the construction of the Vento di Vino 2 facility in Mazara del Vallo, Trapani province. This financing is part of the European Green Deal and REPowerEU initiative. The project will also refinance the existing 24MW Vento di Vino 1 wind farm. Over 270 jobs are expected to be created during the implementation phase, providing economic benefits to Sicily. The project includes a brownfield wind farm (Vento di Vino 1) and a greenfield wind farm (Vento di Vino 2), with a focus on environmental sustainability and renewable energy production.
