British solar and storage developer Elgin Energy has obtained a planning permit to build a 150-MW solar plant, coupled with an energy storage system, in the Australian state of Victoria. The project marks the company’s largest hybrid initiative to date, supported by a 250-MWh battery energy storage system. The Elaine Solar Farm was issued the go-ahead on May 3. Urbis served as Elgin’s consultant in the clearance process. Elgin Australia is targeting a project pipeline of over 4 GW across the states of Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. The company secured development approval for a 60-MW solar project with a co-located BESS in Victoria. Join Renewables Now's newsletter for free.
