Eneco's aged Dutch wind farm goes down, parts to be repurposed

Eneco announces the dismantling of the Herkingen wind farm in the Netherlands to repurpose its components and site as part of a circular economy initiative. The wind farm's turbine blades will be recycled into urban furniture and other items by Blade-Made, and its land will be sold to a local farmer for agricultural enhancements. Additionally, its power connection will be transferred to grid operator Stedin for grid optimization on Goeree-Overflakkee.
