Enel completes 87-MW solar farm with battery in northern Italy

Enel Green Power, the renewables arm of Italian utility group Enel SpA, completed an 87-MW solar farm in Trino, Vercelli, Piedmont, making it the largest in northern Italy. Paired with a 25-MW/100-MWh lithium-ion battery, with plans for a larger storage system. Situated on a former nuclear and power plant site, funded by a crowdfunding campaign, the project employs bifacial PV modules to generate 130 GWh/year.
