Enel's renewables thrive in Q1 2024 with EBITDA soaring 59.1%

Enel Green Power, the renewables unit of Italian utility group Enel SpA, reported strong first-quarter results. The business segment saw a significant increase in Ordinary EBITDA and revenues, attributed to higher renewable power generation, especially from hydro and solar plants in Italy, Spain, and Chile. Enel's renewables accounted for 67.2% of the Group's consolidated capacity. The overall Group results were mixed, with declining revenues but increased EBITDA and net profit, driven by strong renewables performance and cost optimization.
