800,000 new home energy management (HEM) systems were installed across Europe in 2023, with Germany having the greatest number of installations followed by the UK. The market for systems that optimize energy generation, storage, and consumption is expected to grow significantly by 2030 driven by factors like high electricity prices and increasing deployment of connectable electrical assets at home. LCP Delta predicts substantial growth across European countries in the HEM market due to the rising adoption of renewable energy sources. However, barriers to growth include interoperability issues, slow smart meter rollout, and regulatory uncertainties.
