Energy Vault to build100-MW hybrid gravity storage site in Italy

Energy Vault Holdings Inc has been chosen to deploy a 100-MW hybrid gravity-based energy storage system at a mine owned by Carbosulcis SpA, which will be transformed into a carbon-free technology hub. The system combines EV0 modular pumped hydro gravity storage technology and lithium-ion batteries, designed specifically for underground mines. The project aims to maximize local use of renewable energy and enhance power grid stability in Sardinia.
