EU surpasses 50% renewable power share for first time in first half of 2024

Electricity industry association Eurelectric reported that 50% of electricity generation in the EU came from renewables for the first time in the first half of 2024. Germany also achieved significant renewable energy milestones. Notable figures include ZSW Managing Director Frithjof Staiß and BDEW chair Kerstin Andreae advocating for a more sustainable power supply.
