European Energy awarded land for 21.6-MW wind project in Germany

Danish renewables developer European Energy A/S secured a contract to build a 21.6-MW wind farm in a town in the German state of Saarland. The wind farm is expected to feature three units of the Vestas V172 7.2-MW turbines. The municipality of Nalbach awarded the contract through a tender seeking investors for municipal land. European Energy plans to apply for the building permit this year and will involve local citizens in the project.
