European Energy secures approval for 250 MW solar plant in southern Italy

Danish renewable energy company European Energy has secured approvals to build a 250 MW solar power plant in Vizzini, Sicily, Italy. The facility will be near an Italian grid operator Terna substation and cover around 200 hectares. The plant will incorporate traditional photovoltaic as well as tracker solutions and agrivoltaic concepts to maximize energy production while balancing agricultural yield. European Energy also operates Italy's largest solar plant, a 123 MW project in Troia, Foggia.
