Faulty installations often to blame for battery fires

EPRI, with the support of the U.S. Department of Energy's PNNL and Munich-based Twaice, analyzed 26 fire incidents in battery storage to determine causes. Manufacturing defects were not a significant cause, while errors predominantly occurred in system components. Better quality assurance and software monitoring are recommended to minimize errors in integration.
