First batteries arrive for SSE’s 150-MW energy storage project in UK

UK utility SSE plc announced the delivery of the first batch of batteries for its 150-MW/300-MWh energy storage project in West Yorkshire, UK. The project at Ferrybridge will be SSE's second battery energy storage system, three times larger than the one in Salisbury. Other BESS projects by SSE Renewables are in Monk Fryston and Fiddler’s Ferry in the UK.
