The Launchpad project aims to develop low CO2 steels at Tata Steel’s Port Talbot site for floating offshore wind platforms in the Celtic Sea. The project involves collaborations between Marine Power Systems, Tata Steel UK, Swansea University, Associated British Ports, and Ledwood Engineering. Innovate UK provides nearly £1m funding for the project to optimize the PelaFlex platform's structural efficiency, minimize costs, and increase the use of local materials. Various partners contribute to design, fabrication, and deployment, aiming to boost the green industrial hub in South Wales.
