Germany’s Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics (Fraunhofer CSP) is working on a project called IP-Schutz until March 2027, focusing on developing experimental techniques for intellectual property and patent infringement investigations related to solar PV products. The project aims to create simplified measurement procedures for these investigations. Stefan Lange, team manager at Fraunhofer CSP, highlighted the importance of accurate characterization of nanoscopic features in solar cell technologies. The institute uses various advanced measurement methods like TEM, XPS, and ToF-SIMS to analyze cell interfaces and passivation layers.
