Researchers at Germany's Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems have developed a new method for creating ultra-fine contact fingers on solar cells, reducing silver use without compromising performance. The process achieved a record-breaking power conversion efficiency of 23.4%. This work, part of the 'Guten Morgen' project funded by the BMWK, was done in collaboration with ASYS Automatisierungssysteme and Asada Mesh Co. Ltd, and will be presented at the upcoming EUPVSEC in Vienna.
