Scientists at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Germany have developed a perovskite silicon tandem solar cell with 31.6% efficiency, enabling more efficient solar cells for potential industrial production. The cell combines a perovskite layer with a textured silicon layer, increasing sunlight utilisation and electricity conversion rates.
