Fraunhofer ISE unveils M10 TOPCon solar cell with 24.0% efficiency

Germany's Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems has unveiled a new 120 µm thin solar cell based on TOPCon technology and M10 wafers. The institute aims to support industrial partners in production optimization and new cell technologies. They achieved an efficiency of 24.0% with further optimization expected to exceed 25%. The long-term goal is silicon-based tandem solar cells with over 30% efficiency. Further details about applications and commercial production were not disclosed.
