FRV to invest some $5 billion in 2 GW of green hydrogen capacity in Brazil

Madrid-based renewable energy development company FRV plans to develop a 2 GW green hydrogen project at the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex in the Brazilian state of Ceará. The project aims to produce green ammonia for export to European and Asian markets. FRV will invest BRL 27 billion in the endeavor, creating 1,500 jobs during construction and over 200 jobs during operation. The project will prioritize adherence to European regulations, sustainability principles, and utilize renewable energy and recycled water to ensure a circular economy.
