Germany clarifies hydrogen network funding

Germany's Federal Network Agency issued a determination for financing the hydrogen core network, aiming to create a climate-friendly energy infrastructure financed by grid charges. The network fee is set initially below cost-covering to encourage hydrogen ramp-up. Network operators and investors have a reliable regulatory framework for private financing until 2055 under WANDA specification. Klaus Muller, President of the Federal Network Agency, mentioned the nationwide uniform ramp-up fee. The next step involves network operators applying for approval of the hydrogen core network.
