The German government is planning to procure energy resources, including long-duration energy storage (LDES) through the proposed Power Plant Safety Act. The plan includes hydrogen-ready power plants, hydrogen-powered plants, and LDES technologies. The government aims to address gaps in solar PV and wind energy generation through LDES technologies with 72-hour discharge duration.
