Germany: Value of PV imports, exports plunges 66%

In 2023, Germany imported nearly €3.6 billion worth of PV systems, primarily solar cells and modules. PV imports and exports showed a significant decline in value. China is the top country of origin for imported PV products. European countries lead in exporting PV products. Production of solar modules and collectors in Germany declined by significant percentages. German PV market experienced growth in installed PV systems and capacity. Record levels of solar power feed-in were observed in the grid.
