The global energy transition has slowed down due to economic volatility, geopolitical tensions, and technological shifts. European countries lead the WEF Energy Transition Index 2024 rankings. Despite record high ETI scores, the pace of transition has slowed. Various countries benefit from political commitment, research, clean energy adoption, and policies. Advanced economies and China dominate clean energy investment, narrowing the gap with developing economies. China and Brazil have progressed significantly in clean energy investments.
