Greece downsizes target for 3rd battery storage tender - report

Greece has reduced the targeted capacity for its third tender round for battery energy storage systems to 200 MW from the initial 300 MW. The auction for standalone batteries is part of the country's plan to allocate 1 GW of BESS capacity through three tenders. The reduction in capacity will result in funds being redirected to initiatives under Greece's Recovery and Resilience Facility. The competition details will soon be published in the government gazette. The third BESS tender will accept proposals for standalone batteries with a four-hour duration in various regions.
