Greek transmission operator to introduce measures for fair curtailments

The Greek renewable energy market faces growing curtailments until 2030 even if the National Energy and Climate Plan’s (NECP) storage goals are met. Renewable energy associations highlighted the issue of curtailments during an event organized by the Regulatory Authority for Waste, Energy and Water in Thessaloniki. HELAPCO and POSPIEF provided insights on current curtailments affecting renewable electricity production. Aggregators have been accused of unfair practices in the electricity markets, leading to changes in rules by IPTO.
