US industrial packaging firm Greif Inc has signed a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with the renewable energy unit of Spanish utility Endesa SA to support the construction of two solar farms in Spain. The agreement covers the supply of about 100 GWh of clean electricity per year, representing approximately 70% of the output of the future sites. The VPPA helps Greif move closer to achieving its climate target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 28% by 2030, with the renewable power supplied accounting for a significant portion of the company's emissions.
