Gresham House Energy Storage Fund switches on 50-MW/50-MWh battery

UK’s Gresham House Energy Storage Fund plc announced the energisation of its 50-MW/50-MWh Penwortham battery energy storage system near Preston in Lancashire, North West England. The fund plans to boost the project’s capacity to 50 MW/100 MWh. With Penwortham, the fund has an operational capacity of 790 MW/926 MWh and aims to reach 1,072 MW/1,696 MWh by the end of the year. Ben Guest, the fund manager, mentioned the completion of various energised projects including Penwortham.
