Groundbreaking held for EGL2 subsea link

Groundbreaking has occurred for a 2GW subsea link between Scotland and England. The £4.3bn EGL2 project involves National Grid and SSEN Transmission. The subsea cable will run from Peterhead to East Yorkshire. EGL2 aims to support the UK's transition to a net zero economy by providing renewable electricity. Ofgem's fast track process accelerates construction of major energy projects like EGL2.
