Spanish solar contractor GRS has been tapped by local renewables investment platform Bruc to build two solar plants in southern Spain with a combined capacity of 105 MW. The grid-connected scheme, one of the largest in GRS’ Iberian portfolio, will be deployed in Archidona in the province of Malaga. Once commissioned, the sites will generate enough clean electricity to power 40,000 homes. GRS has selected another affiliated entity, namely PV Hardware (PVH), to supply and install 1,516 trackers to maximise the plant’s performance. Bruc expects to have 2,000 MW under construction and operation by the end of the year.
