Highview Power, backed by UK Infrastructure Bank and Centrica, is set to construct the first commercial-scale liquid air energy storage plant in the UK. The plant in Carrington, Manchester, will have a storage capacity of 300MWh and an output power of 50MWs per hour for six hours. The investment will support the transition to net zero and drive economic growth. Highview Power aims to roll out larger scale facilities across the UK to align with LDES support mechanisms.
