Ignitis commissions 22-MW solar farm in Lithuania

Ignitis Grupe AB announced the commercial operation of a 22MW solar project in Taurage, Lithuania, adjacent to an existing wind farm. The facility will cover the electricity needs of about 13,000 households annually. With a total capacity of 47MW from solar and wind, it can power around 40,000 local homes. The project required an investment of approximately EUR 14 million, 12.5% less than the initial estimates. Ignitis now has 1.4GW of renewables capacity, aiming for 4-5GW by 2030.
