Inch Cape transformers arrive in UK

The 1100MW Inch Cape offshore wind farm’s two 545megavolt amp transformers have arrived at the Smulders yard in Wallsend, England. The hardware made the overland and sea journey from Zagreb, Croatia, via Rotterdam, Netherlands to the UK facility where they will be assembled and tested by the Siemens Energy team prior to lifting onto the offshore transformer module. These are the two largest ever capacity offshore AC transformers built for a UK offshore wind farm.
