India tenders 70GW of renewable energy in FY 2024, half from solar PV

India has significantly increased its utility-scale renewable energy capacity tenders to 69.8GW in FY24, with a substantial portion from solar PV. Despite a drop in module prices, solar tariffs have risen. Challenges persist with import duties and domestic component requirements. Interest remains high due to potential market growth and government support.
