Industrial policy: EU Council approves the net-zero industry act

The EU Council has approved the net-zero industry act, a regulation to strengthen Europe's net-zero technology manufacturing ecosystem. This act aims to boost industrial deployment of net-zero technologies to achieve the EU's climate goals. It sets benchmarks for manufacturing capacity of net-zero technologies and aims for an increased Union share for these technologies. The act also includes targets for injecting CO2 into geological storage sites and aims to make Europe a leader in industrial green technologies.
