The world’s renewable power capacity needs to increase by 16.4% year-on-year to meet the 2030 climate targets. Despite the growth in renewable power capacity, it is still insufficient to reach the set targets. IRENA emphasizes the need for higher speed and scale of renewable growth to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
