Italy deploys 4.2 GW of solar in January-August period

Italy added around 4.2 GW of newly installed solar power in the first eight months of 2024, reaching a cumulative PV capacity of 34.48 GW by August. Over 206,000 renewable energy systems came online, totaling over 1.8 million plants in operation. The country added 5 GW of renewable energy capacity from January to August, achieving a total clean energy capacity of 67 GW. GSE President, Paolo Arrigoni, stated that around 9 GW of new renewable energy capacity is expected to be deployed this year.
