J-Power wraps up deal for Aussie renewables firm Genex

Japanese utility company J-Power has acquired Genex Power Ltd, an Australian renewables and energy storage firm, at a valuation of about AUD 1.04 billion. The deal included paying AUD 0.275 per Genex share in cash. Genex has a portfolio of power generation and storage projects surpassing AUD 1 billion, including solar projects in Queensland and New South Wales. Last month, Genex completed the refinancing of debt for its Kidston and Jemalong solar projects.
