Utility-scale battery storage developer Jupiter Power plans to construct a 700MW standalone battery energy storage system at a former ExxonMobil site in Everett, Massachusetts. The project, Trimount Energy Storage Facility, is part of a wider redevelopment program. Jupiter Power also owns the Norman Street Battery Storage project in New England. Jupiter Power has multiple battery storage projects across the US, including in Texas, New York, and Long Island. Competitor Plus Power closed financing for a project in Massachusetts. Concerns have been raised by local residents regarding Jupiter Power's projects, leading to online petitions.
