Scientists from the University of Technology – Iraq utilized the k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN) machine learning algorithm to classify the operational status of PV panels and predict their voltage, current, and power output. They trained the algorithm on a dataset generated via Python and LTspice XVII software, showing high accuracy in classification tasks and power output forecast. The study highlights the significance of ML techniques, particularly the k-NN algorithm, in advancing solar energy research and application.
