Highview Power secures GBP 300 million for the first commercial-scale liquid air energy storage plant in the UK. The company raised funds from UK Infrastructure Bank, Centrica, Rio Tinto, Goldman Sachs, KIRKBI, and Mosaic Capital. Construction for a 50 MW, 300 MWh facility in Carrington, Manchester, is set to begin with plans for larger-scale energy storage facilities by 2035.
