LONGi unveils heterojunction back-contact cell with record 27.3% conversion efficiency

LONGi, a major Chinese module producer, has set a new record for power conversion efficiency with silicon heterojunction back-contact (HBC) cells. The record-breaking conversion efficiency of 27.3% was confirmed by Germany’s Institute for Solar Energy Research Hamelin. LONGi's Hi-MO 9 series of modules with a conversion efficiency of 24.42% uses hybrid passivated back-contact (HPBC) technology.
