Madrid’s residential solar self-consumption rates range between 30% and 70%

A group of researchers from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and CIEMAT analyzed the potential self-sufficiency of photovoltaics on residential buildings in eight neighborhoods of Madrid. They considered the impact of urban and building characteristics on meeting electricity consumption through rooftop photovoltaic systems. The results indicate varying self-sufficiency potentials in different areas, influenced by factors like building height and urban fabric.
