Malaysian fabricator scoops Nederwiek substation job

Petrofac has awarded Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MMHE) a second subcontract to build an offshore substation (OSS) for TenneT’s 2GW programme in the Netherlands. MMHE will build the high voltage direct current (HVDC) platform’s topside and jacket, which is called the Nederwiek 1. MHB is responsible for the construction engineering, fabrication, mechanical completion, load out and sea fastening, plus architectural works on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis. The duration of the project is approximately 36 months, with fabrication to begin in 2025 and completed by 2028. Mohd Nazir Mohd Nor, MD and CEO of MHB, expressed their pleasure on being awarded the second offshore wind project subcontract, highlighting the importance of the project in supporting the global net zero ambition.
