Maldives launches renewables tender for solar, storage, grid upgrades

Stelco, a public utility company in the Maldives, has initiated a tender for renewable energy projects involving solar systems, BESS, energy management systems, upgrades to power networks, and extending 132 kV grid infrastructure. Interested parties can submit expressions of interest. Maldives had 37 MW of installed solar capacity by the end of 2023. A battery fire occurred at Suncycle in Germany.
