Mali to build 200 MW of solar with Russian support

The government of Mali announces the construction of a 200 MW solar plant by Russia's Novawind, a division of Rosatom. The project involves Mali's transitional government and the Malian Ministry of Energy. Mali and Russia are set to develop civil nuclear power. The electricity sector in Mali heavily depends on imported fossil fuels. The country aims to increase its renewable energy capacity with solar power plants.
