Masdar-owned Infinity Power to develop 1GW of renewables in Sierra Leone

The solar PV industry in Sierra Leone and across Africa is gaining momentum. Infinity Power, a joint venture between Masdar and Infinity, signed an MOU with the government of Sierra Leone to develop 1GW of renewable energy projects in the country. Masdar, one of Infinity Power's parent companies, announced a US$1 billion green bond financial raise. PV Tech reached out to Infinity Power for confirmation. Masdar is chaired by Ahmed Al-Jaber, who is also head of ADNOC. The World Bank's RESPITE project in Sierra Leone aims to add 106MW of solar PV and energy storage systems.
