Masdar to acquire 67% stake in Greek renewables company Terna Energy

Masdar, a UAE state-owned renewable energy developer, has acquired a 67% stake in Greece's Terna Energy for €2.4 billion. This acquisition is part of Masdar's strategy to grow its portfolio in Europe aiming for 100GW capacity by 2030. Masdar plans to inject capital and expertise in Terna Energy for expanding renewable energy projects in Greece and Europe. Additionally, Masdar is involved in developing solar PV projects in Azerbaijan with a total capacity of 760MW.
