Maxeon’s PV module capacity hits 2.5 GW in Mexico

Maxeon completed a $70 million refurbishing project in Mexicali, Mexico, increasing the capacity of its module plant to 1.8 GW. The company also operates a factory in Ensenada, Baja California, with a combined capacity of 2.5 GW. Maxeon has invested over $260 million in the region, making Mexicali one of the largest solar panel manufacturing facilities in the Americas. CEO Bill Mulligan highlighted the talented workforce and strategic location of Baja California for meeting the increasing demand for their products.
