Merger target Maersk Supply Service carves out offshore installation ops

Maersk Supply Service A/S, part of Denmark’s AP Moller Group, announced the creation of Maersk Offshore Wind, a spin-off providing installation services for offshore wind market based on Maersk Wind Installation Vessel concept. Norway's DOF Group ASA is buying Maersk Supply Service for about USD 1.112 billion in cash and shares. Maersk Offshore Wind, owned by AP Moller Holding, claims it can reduce installation time by about 30%. The first Maersk WIV is under construction in Singapore and due in 2025, working on Equinor’s Empire offshore wind project in the US.
